About Joanne -
Joanne Chateau is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, and Accredited Clinical Supervisor with more than 20 years of clinical experience across private practice, hospital settings, and community services.
Her career spans private practice, specialised inpatient and outpatient programs in a hospital setting, community-based work with children and families in family services, and over a decade of health research.
Joanne's approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and deeply relational. She draws on art therapy, attachment theory, somatic approaches, ACT, DBT, and CBT — always tailoring therapy to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. She has a particular interest in working with complex trauma, emotional regulation, and supporting people through major life transitions.
Joanne is registered with the Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and is an Accredited Clinical Supervisor through the PACFA College of Supervision.
